A beer with Jim Cregan, co-founder of Jimmy’s Iced Coffee.

Makers – stories from Dorset.

There’s nothing we love more than learning something new over a perfectly crafted pint. And when our companion happens to be a proper character who also shares our love of Dorset, then so much the better.

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Jim Cregan – eternal optimist and co-founder of Jimmy’s Iced Coffee – at The Grasshopper, Poole.

After sampling some chilled coffee during a road trip Down Under Jim was hooked, and vowed to introduce his own version to the UK. Fast forward seven years, and Jimmy’s is a true David to the industry’s Goliaths.

Not only have Jim and his team turned a small Dorset original into a seemingly unstoppable business without losing their character, but they’ve also inspired coffee fans all over the country with their refreshingly easy-going mantra – keep your chin up.

Take a look as we talk Dorset, not-so-hidden talents, and why keeping things fresh is paramount.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment of our Makers series where we extract some pearls of wisdom from another Dorset independent.
