The Brew Your Own competition beer is being served.

The winner of Badger Beers Brew Your Own Beer competition 26th September 2018

All hands to the pump – the Brew Your Own beer is ready.

Joe Harrison becomes a local legend.

Joe won the ‘money-can’t-buy’ prize of brewing his own beer in our historic, Blandford brewery in Dorset earlier in the summer. He joined us on the 3 September to create his brew – and now the beer is being served in his Hall & Woodhouse pub of choice.

Using over 240 years of expertise to help him.

Joe spent the day at the brewery where, with the guidance of our master brewers, he crafted his own beer. Firstly we gave Joe a tour of our state-of-the-art equipment, which gave him a good understanding of the brewing process.

A very distinctive beer.

Armed with all this new-found brewing knowledge, Joe selected the malts and hops he wanted to use. He chose Vienna, Munich and Cara malt, and added Fuggles, Cascade, Centennial and Celeia hops. Fermented with Belgium Abbaye yeast, Joe created a truly hybrid pale flagon ale with an ABV of 4.7% and a distinctive aroma and taste of banana and bubble gum. Joe named his beer NSA.

Exclusively available at Peacock Farm.

NSA is being served in Joe’s local Hall & Woodhouse pub– Peacock Farm, Bracknell, Berkshire. This traditional country pub, with its oak beams and roaring log fires, is always a great destination for a characterful Badger beer – and now with NSA on cask for a limited time, there’s even more of a reason to visit.

Stopping for a bite to eat? Try NSA with the black & blue burger or a steak – and for those with a sweet tooth, it’s great with the coffee & walnut panna cotta or the chocolate brownie.

Thank you to everyone that entered our Brew Your Own competition and congratulations once again to Joe for winning – and creating such a unique beer.
