Ale! Ale! Ale to the King!

We’re having a right royal celebration to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.
To celebrate the occasion, we’ve brewed an extra special beer, available on cask in our Hall & Woodhouse pubs and as a bottle conditioned ale that can be bought on our website or from our brewery shop in Blandford, Dorset.
Ale to the King is a traditional English cask ale, ideal for toasting a new King. It uses the finest British ingredients, bringing together Flagon Barley alongside crystal and chocolate malts combined with noble British hops, Sovereign and Endeavor. These give a well-balanced, cask ale with a lasting mouthfeel at 4.9% ABV.
If you prefer to toast our new monarch at home or perhaps you’re having a street party, then we’ve created a bottled version of Ale to the King, just for you. This version packs a bigger punch at 7% ABV, but retains the balance of the cask variant, delivering a satisfying full flavour that’s definitely fit for a king.
So please do enjoy a bottle or two at home or you can find your nearest Hall & Woodhouse pub and join us this May bank holiday and toast the new king, after all it’s been 70 years in the making!

Celebrating a coronation isn’t something we get to do every day, so here are a few ideas to get you started…
Toast around a roast
What’s more British than great company and a great roast? Whether you make it yourself or pop out to the pub – start the celebrations with friends and family.
Toast at the beach
Okay, you may need a good jacket, but nothing says ‘celebration’ like a beach barbeque and brew in the spring sunshine. Just remember to bin your bottles or take them home with you.
Toast at a street party
A coronation is a monumental event, so no doubt there’ll be a street party or two happening around the UK. Why not toast with your neighbours?
Toast around the table
Staying in and celebrating together is just as special as going out. You could even spice things up by crafting crowns (best one wins, of course), having a fancy dress competition, or playing some themed games together.
