I always think of Mackeson whenever someone says “milk stout”. So when I saw that Badger were releasing their own take on this classic style, the first thing that struck me was the strength. This certainly isn’t the mild alcohol level associated with the style.
But it doesn’t drink like a 5.2% abv beer. In fact, it’s incredibly smooth, with no alcoholic burn or harshness whatsoever. It’s a very easy-drinking, moreish beer with smooth roasted notes and hints of vanilla and the most subtle red fruits in the background.
It’s an outstanding beer, and one I will most certainly be ordering again.
