Frank's Integrity Strong English Ale is the third in the series of Founder’s Day beers that celebrate key people from our history.

Frank Woodhouse dedicated an incredible 59 years to the business, guiding it through major cultural and commercial change - including the brewery’s relocation from Ansty to its current home in Blandford Forum.

Originally trained as a doctor, Frank joined his two older brothers in the family business and played a crucial role in building the new brewery. His sharp instincts proved vital when a devastating fire reduced "Hector’s Brewery" to ashes. Acting fast, Frank helped rescue the company’s books and papers while townsfolk saved carts, wagons, and casks from the flames.

Our 2025 Founder’s Day Ale pays tribute to Frank’s legacy and keen eye for quality, using only the finest British malts and hops to create a satisfyingly warming (bottle conditioned) English strong ale.

Contains Malted Barley. May contain Wheat.

Wow. This is a big strong! 7%! Great flavour. Caramel and biscuits. Probably best to leave it as one!

FAQs

Questions brewing? You'll find plenty of helpful answers in our FAQs.

As a traditionally brewed, bottle-conditioned ale, Frank's Integrity is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. The live yeast used in the bottle-conditioning process means we cannot make a vegetarian or vegan claim.

We are also unable to confirm whether this beer is gluten-free. As gluten is a regulated allergen, confirming a gluten-free claim requires laboratory testing of every batch. While we're exploring options to introduce this capability in the future, we cannot currently guarantee or verify the gluten content.

A strong farmhouse cheddar is a fitting match for this limited-edition strong ale, bringing together bold flavours built on character and conviction.

Our bottled ales are best enjoyed lightly chilled, around 10-14°C. Serving Frank's Integrity too cold can mask some of the flavours, while a slightly warmer temperature helps bring out its full character.

Frank's Integrity is a limited-edition beer brewed as part of our Founder's Day collection. Once stocks are gone, it won't be brewed again until we celebrate our 250th birthday!

We'd love to see Frank's Integrity on the bar too. However, as a limited-edition Founder's Day release, it's only available in bottles for a short time and won't be available on cask in our Hall & Woodhouse pubs.

Bottle-conditioned beers contain live yeast that continues to develop the beer's flavour and natural carbonation in the bottle. For the best results, store upright and allow the bottle to settle for at least 24-48 hours before opening. When ready to serve, pour carefully into a glass, leaving any natural yeast sediment behind.
