It was a tasting that started like any other. Yet the night that ensued became one for the history books. The beer we sipped was so golden and delicious that it had everyone and their dog celebrating into the wee hours of the morning. Such is the legend of our Tangle Foot.

Brewed by former head brewer John Woodhouse, this magical blend of Challenger and Goldings hops holds a delicate floral aroma and legendary status.

Contains Barley and Sulphites. May contain Wheat.

Slight floral aroma, maybe a hint of pear drop as well. Clear golden brown colour. Lovely malty base with a subtle fruitiness. Smooth and mild. But enough hop for the flavour. Very easy drinking.

FAQs

Questions brewing? You'll find plenty of helpful answers in our FAQs.

We believe Tangle Foot is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, as no animal-derived ingredients are intentionally used in the brewing process. However, we are not certified by a vegan society and do not routinely test to verify vegan status, so we cannot make an official vegan claim.

At present, we are unable to confirm whether the beer is gluten-free. As gluten is a regulated allergen, confirming a gluten-free claim requires laboratory testing of every batch. While we are exploring options to introduce this capability in the future, we cannot currently guarantee or validate the gluten content.

Our classic golden ale pairs perfectly with steak and Tangle Foot pie; a combination made for good company and stories that stretch long into the evening.

Our ales are best enjoyed lightly chilled, around 10-14°C. Serving Tangle Foot too cold can mask some of the flavours, while a slightly warmer temperature helps bring out its full character.

Whether you're stocking up for a gathering or simply planning ahead, Tangle Foot cans are available year-round online and in selected stores.

You're in luck! Tangle Foot is available on cask in most Hall & Woodhouse pubs. Availability can vary from pub to pub, so it's always worth checking with your local before you visit.
